Covering the Heart of Hamilton County Since 1983

Advertising Information - Circulation
The Mill Creek runs through the heart of Hamilton County, as does Interstate 75. Many people, including noted cartoonist Jim Borgman, have outlined the differences between Westsiders and Eastsiders in Hamilton County. Yet the “Valley” has its own identity, mannerisms and lore. Much of it was settled in the early 1800s, thanks to the creek and later the Erie Canal that ran through the communities.
Originally, the Courier covered the lower part of the Valley - St. Bernard, Elmwood Place, Arlington Heights, Carthage, Hartwell, Valleydale, Lockland, Reading, Roselawn and Wyoming. In 2001, Jim Dygert, who had published the Suburban Press in the upper Valley retired and the Courier added the communities of Evendale, Sharonville, Glendale, Woodlawn and Springdale.
The Courier is read by about 10,000 people each week. Approximately 8,000 of these are subscribers (98 percent in Hamilton County) with the rest picking the paper up at one of over 20 newsstands. Subscription rates are $25 per year for mail delivery in Hamilton County, $28.00 for outside the county. Individual papers cost 50¢ each. The Courier is registered with the Post Office as a Periodical (USPS No. 016359, ISSN: 1550-6894), meaning Inspectors not only have verified our circulation figures but that we are eligible to accept legal notices - one of only two papers in the county with this designation. A Statement of Ownership and Circulation is published every October.
The readers are mostly middle to upper-middle class, although there are areas of wealth. Many families have lived in the same community for generations, preferring to stay close to other family members and friends. Thanks to the Interstate Highway, Cross County Highway and the Norwood Lateral, almost all of Greater Cincinnati north of the river is within a 15-minute drive. This proximity to Downtown, shopping malls at Tri-County, Eastgate, Northgate and Cincinnati Mills means the Courier’s readers are great targets for advertising for any business in Hamilton County
