Yeah Mike when there's competition. Today, if you would do your homework you would find that big corporations have a hand in 80% of everything(They write the rules and dictate the prices). And the so called competition for utilities is a joke ,I've tried it, and by the time you pay the delivery fee and additional taxes the savings is non-exsistant.
Dalmation, your right, I think I'll take a break. That's what is wrong with this country it's called CONSERVATISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reguardless of who wins in November, we're still all screwed. REMEMBER THAT!
And please stop getting your info. from Fox News, it's a bought and paid for propaganda machine, no better than Joseph Goebbels of Hitler fame. Lie,scare, distort, divide, and spew hate! Just what America is all about.

Joe,
You ought to study up on how capitalism works. If a company makes too much money, some other entrepreneur will be willing to make less and compete. If a company offers a lousy product, or prices it higher than what it is worth, someone will "capitalize" on it and steal business.
Why have some utility costs actually come down recently? Because we can now pick from someone than just Duke to get our gas or electricity from.
While you're studying, you might also want to get to understand actuarial tables. Insurance companies know exactly how many dollars will be spent on the average to provide health care for a 21 year old female. They also know how much fire damage the average 1200 square foot, two story house located 120 feet from a fire hydrant will sustain based on the rating of the fire department. They use these figures, along with their costs to do business, to determine rates. If they try to get greedy and make more than their fair share of profits, they will lose customers to a company offering equal coverage at lower rates.
This is not hard to understand - apparently unless one is a Democrat who blindly believes everything the party says (Ditto for Republicans).

Man in Blue,
That's because Harry and Nancy want to end some of the tax cuts - tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no rich no more! But they and their supporters know voting against the cuts would mean not getting reelected so they will wait until after the election.
I'm sure Sharon Angle was thrilled when she heard Harry doesn't have the gonads to have a vote.

What a bunch of cowards this congress is...to afraid to approve a budget before the election and now the wimps are going to wait till after the election on the tax cut extensions. Wow.

Joe,
You are paying more now to have her insured than you were before she turned 21 and this is a shining example of how Obamacare is good? Do you shop at Shurefine, see ground beef for sale at 99?/lb. and tell the cashier this isn't right, that you insist on paying $1.29/lb.?
Oh, and if Obamanation's Cap & Trade plan ever passes, that same pound of hamburger will cost you $6.99. But hey, who cares, the Dems are growing Money Trees!

Mike, your nuts! They are now getting a higher premium then when she was on my plan. All I said was I don't feel sorry for them. Nothing has really changed. They are getting the family premium rate whether I have 1 child or 10 children.
I just hope if you ever need help, you don't run into you.

Joe,
I thought you said you agreed there is no such thing as a free lunch. If you really think the insurance company is going to make less profits covering your daughter, I can see why you support Democrats.
Are you short of cash every day? Can't meet your expenses? Click
here
to solve your problems. It's the amazing Money Tree, and it is free! But wait, there's more. Order by November 2 (just elect Democrats and Republicans who think money does grow on trees) and you can get two of these for the price of one!

She cuts hair , that she went to school for, and her employer doesn't offer health insurance. So I'm assuming your answer is stay sick or go to the emergency room which isn't the answer. I don't feel sorry for my insurance company that makes billions in profit to have to cover her for 5 more years!
And yes, she will be paying all co-pays and deductables.

I hope she is paying you for that. I think the age raise as high as it is, is absolutely ridiculous. I don't want to see anybody without insurance, but I would not want to be supporting my kids in that way when they are old enough to take of themselves, unless they have a real medical condition or special needs.......or if they are still in school, of course. If she requires special care, I am sorry for that. This is only my opinion.

My 21 year old daughter now has insurance thanks to Obamacare! She's back on my plan January 1st. Anybody that would vote for a candidate that wants to repeal the health care bill is crazy.
Oh yeah, I believe Mr. Chabot wants to repeal. What a great guy. My dauther will be voting for Driehaus.

Joe,
Finally a reply more than he says/she says!
And one I can honestly respond: "I don't know what to do with the freeloaders, those that will steal and rob others."
Perhaps institute a true penal system where going to jail is not fun, where they get baloney sandwiches for lunch and something similar for breakfast and supper. During the day, they work, and work hard, be it cleaning roads or something along those lines. Add the opportunity to learn a skill while jailed. Unfortunately, I had several friends, guys I liked and hung out with, who found prison a better situation - something they didn't mind doing. Thankfully, most of them have become smarter over the years and are now leading a better life.
But I refuse to buy into the idea that because people are poor and do not want to work, it is my job to donate part of my treasury to take care of them.
YMMV.

Answer, No. But what do you do with these so called freeloaders. If you don't feed them they do not die, they steal from those of us that have! Until you educate and give the low end a chance at obtaining middle class status, things will never change. Can't do it by cutting everything!

Once again typical. You hate unions, welfare, all taxes, just about everything that helps the little guy, and then ask were I say that.
I bet as a young man you were pretty liberal, and now your a conservative, sounds like a hypocrite to me!
Joe,
If you can't refute the posts, shoot the messenger!
I'm no fan of unions - tis true. My son had to join one when he got his job. In summer, his hours went from 35 per wk. to eight per week. Did his dues go down? Not a bit.
I'm not opposed to welfare for the people who really need it. But I have known people who simply do not want to work - they don't want a hand up, they want a hand-out.
Taxes are a necessary evil. I want police and fire protection, decent roads. But I don't want to pay taxes to build a bridge to no where, buy signs telling us how our taxes are being wasted or to bail out companies or institutions that ought to fail because they are incorrectly ran. I don't want millions of tax dollars going to create a few dozen jobs.
A simple question, Joe. Requires just a yes or no answer. Do you think there is such a thing as a truly free lunch?
