Have you ever heard of the earned income credit, which says the more you make the more you should pay and gives the working poor more back than they paid? Well guess who gave us that; your hero Ronald Wilson Reagan(666). And Mike if you think that THE WAY BUSH IS LEAVING THIS COUNTRY IS GOOD, then I have a bridge to nowhere to sell you. Nemesis what can I say idiot2

Joe,

IIRC, the IEC is structured so that if a wage earner earned very little, he/she received very little. It rose with the wage earner's income to a certain level, then decreased as the income level rose. But he hardly increased taxes on the rich, Reagan cut the top marginal rates from the high in pre-1981, 70 percent to 28 percent.

As for President Bush, consider how the economy was humming along until this year, the second year the Dems have been in control of Congress. If the Axix of Taxes (Obama, Pelosi, Reid)  manages to become a reality, you'll be able to tell your kids about how you survived the Greatest Depression. Obama wants to raise minimum wages to $9.00/hr. in the next three years. Joe, there are businesses out there that simply cannot afford to pay someone that much money for what they get out of them. So employment will not rise, the gost of products will rise, taxes will rise (sales taxes are higher on something costing more and payroll taxes are higher also) but to the socialists/Marxists that want to "spread the wealth" that's no porblem, tax the rich more and more.

TSMACH, you need a brain transplant. Thank God the youth of this country are energized and will take us in a new direction. We have tried your sides way and it doesn't work, nothing trickles down, fear and hate only divide, and the country is sick of that kind of politics.
Sorry to be the one to tell you! I am part of the youth of this country !

Along with my kids!

God accepts and forgives all people so don't preach to me about all you think you know about God. He will judge us both someday and from what you say in your blogs I wouldn't want to be you. See you in hell Nemesis! Hey, why don't you stop with all the labels they really make you sound foolish!

TSMACH, Thank God the youth of this country are energized and will take us in a new direction.
I do believe that anyone with a brain can look at the facts and figures and see for themselves that the direction the USA was headed prior to 2006 was UP, I think it no coincedence that after 2006 when the demoncrats took control of power in both houses of government everything across the board changed, went in a new direction, DOWN. Since God was referenced here I have a few questions are you calling upon the god reverand Wright preaced too, or recieved his inspiration from? is it the same god who has inspired Rev, Jackson and Sharpton and their inspirational leadership? is it the same god that inspires Bill Ayers and Saul Alinksy who have personally mentored obama, Oh I forgot ayers and alinksy are communists and don't believe in god! or was it the god who inspired Rashid Khalidi, and Obama when he attended the islamic madrassa school in his youth and publicly rediculed books of the Bible. I may be wrong but I really don't see anything godlike in the actions of any of these people and most of the others who surround obama and support the liberal leftest socialist democrats and their agenda, so I take issue when someone invokes the name of God for their political purposes, and really I don't think the leadership of your side really extoll the virtues of religious beliefs in their party platform and really are you forgetting how your side rediculed President Bush for saying he believed in God and prayed to him often. Frankly I don't like this aspect of our debate and really dislike anyone claiming god is on their side in a political debate, although we all have every right to believe and reference our belief whenever we wish, I do not seek to deny your right to belief, just question on what basis you believe that the youth of the liberal left are imbued with the belief and power of God and would inspire them in their new Direction a downward spiral. which of course is the direction the democrats have inspired and lead since taking the reigns of power in 2006. I sincerely hope your prayers and hopes are answered by God Joe, really I do.

Here's a little nugget 4 U!
Future Company Policy
**Notice to All Employees**
As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected
into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in
keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1.     All salespeople will be pooling their sales and
bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you.  This will serve
to give those of you who are underachieving a "fair shake."
2.     All low level workers will be pooling their wages,
including  overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are "too busy for overtime"
 to reap the rewards from
those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
 3.     All top management will now be referred to as
 "the government."  We
will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law
 doesn't apply to us.
 4.     The "government" will give eloquent
 speeches to all employees every
week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard "for the good
of all."
 5.     The employees will be thrilled with these new
 policies because it's
"good to spread the wealth."  Those of you who have underachieved will
finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had
success will feel more "patriotic."
6.  The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks.
Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free
healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free
foodstamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you
want even if you can't pay your mortgage.  If you appeal directly to
our democratic congress, you might even get a free flatscreen TV and a
coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice
looking hair?) !!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may
want to rethink your vote on  November 4th.

What amazes me is how much the B.D.S.(bush derangement syndrome) has afflicted almost half our country with the inabillity to comprehend and process facts,if only 1/10 of the wild unsubstantiated allegations against President Bush put forth by the fustrated, frothing at the mouth rabid liberal, socialist democrats were true then why haven't they brought evidence of these multitude of high crimes before the American court system and impeached him, they have control of both houses of government and have all the major media in their pocket and yet they fail, and it's because they suffer from delusions that heresay somehow meets the criteria of evidence admissable in court. Let's face facts your side has failed to prove even one single assertion against our President, pathetic and a good indicator of the kinds of leadership of the socialist democrat liberals. Like VC said Bush isn't running in this election so get over it. I listed several close associates of your messiah and I would be willing to bet I know more about them than you do, and yet you defend these haters, racists, terrorists, liars' cheats , and theves and supporters of the slaughter of the unborn and you want to call me a hater, everything I have said here has been proven true even by the biased liberal agenda media. I have read obama's book and he is not the kind of person who deserves to be president of our country, with his proven record of associations and espoused record of people who have influenced him, he certainly has no business  being a candidate for the presidency, not to mention he has no qualifications to be president, nor any substantive record as a legislator,he simply is not WORTHY to be a candidate for President, and I would not hesitate to say that to his face. again unlike many on the left I base my opinions on facts, and what peole have said and done, the record of their actions, and my judjements are rendered usually with the same criteria a court of law uses which is that heresay is not admissable in court as evidence and until a preponderance of evidence is submitted for a judgement to be made, then it just ain't so Joe.  As far as being a hater, about some things certainly, I hate hypocrites, liars, cheats, thieves, mass murderers, rapists, and those who seek to attack my country and subvert the American way of life to a degree, as far as being angry, not yet,( and by the way as far as using the labels I use they are factual, not from anger just the way I see it ) and as far as these labels are concerned I guess the truth hurts and those who get angry or insulted are trying on the shoe to see if it fits, I will be angry if the obamanations manage to steal the elections, as that's the only way I can see for him to win, and in doing so I believe we will all lose in the end.

Joe,

Excuse me, but what makes you think I am angry, except for the fact the "media," those news outlets that are supposed to provide news in an unbiased fashion, are so biased that calling it ridiculous is the understatement of the century.

I admit that I am frustrated that so many people people really believe that 95 percent of Americans will receive a tax cut and it will not hurt our economy. I am upset that the Dems may cut defense spending by 25 percent. And not doubt I am disgusted that what appears a majority of Americans believe that Socialism, or Marxism if you prefer, is the road this once great country should walk down.

Yep, Joe, welfare and Section 8 housing have worked out great for the country, right? So I guess you would support a Public Housing project next to St. C. school? And if they aren't working, give them a check for $500 and let your kids or grandkids pay for it.

You conservatives always come across so angry. Is it that your dream of total domination of our country is thankfully not going to be realized? And as far as a flat tax,if you've ever read any of my posts from the past, I totally support the flat tax. But typical of you right extremist' you can't respect someone elses opinion, you must spew fear, hate, and division. As I have told Nemesis,Obamas' message is connecting because the country is tired of the Bush/ Rove divide and conquer politic.

Joe,

Okay, first off, Obama is not running against Bush except in the minds of some delusional voters. McCain has not made this clear - he has set an example of how not to run a campaign. That he is still within striking distance says how much people cannot convince themselves to vote for the most liberal senator in the the United States.

George talked about the Axis of Evil, what would one call Nancy Pelosi, Henry Reid and Barack Hussein Obama - the Axis of Marxism? Throw in Barney Frank and you have the 4 Stooges. Take from the rich, give to the poor. Cut defense spending.

Joe, face it, the national media is in love with Obama and Biden. Had Sarah said the most important thing in this election is a three letter word: J-O-B-S (that's four letters fro you slopw liberals!), they would have villified her. But she isn't the "annointed one" or running on his ticket.

Have your ever heard of the phrase: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"? Isn't that the theory behind Obama's plan to tax the rich and give it to the poor?

Or a more simple question: What's a fair share? Everyone pays an equal percentage or different groups of income earners pay different percentages? What is wrong with a plain flat tax - deduct $10,000 for each family member then pay X percent on the rest.

You know why liberals hate, detest, protest and always work to defeat this idea? Because it doesn't allow for social engineering and catering to special interest groups.

One other thing, if anyone really believes that only the top 5 percent of wage earners in the US can cover the additional cost Obama is suggesting, then I have a bridge to nowhere I'm gonna sell on e-bay and you are welcome to bid on it.

It can't get any scarier than the last 8 years. Had a democrat done just half the *crap* Bush did, your side would have tried to impeach him.

Changed the word inside the astericks. - VC

What is starting to scare me is how Obama is viewing the media or anyone who questions him or talks about him in a negative way. Don't like a question you are asked - ban the reporter. Liberal talk radio fails but Conservative talk shows prosper - bring back the fairness doctrine. Make TV because you ask a simple question and get an honest answer - attack the guy. Catch groups committing mass voter registration fraud - it's an attack on community organizers.

The next four years it could be very dangerous to disagree with the administration.
