The HIA from Hartwell, The Carthage Civic league from Carthage and Barbara Kley from Roselawn (she is Roselawn council president). Also, I can find out who the contact through community development and planning is for Hartwell. I dont know if the same person handles those areas but there is a link to who is the contact for each neighborhood on the city of cincy web page under community develp. & Planning. If it is Rodney Ringer...skip it and contact Charles Graves (the new planning director) and let him know what you would like to do. Hartwell is starting our study in September and wanted to know if we wanted to do Carthage too and I said I wanted to get Hartwell started since we have the school & rec center work starting this fall and we need to move now. I dont mean to sound like I dont care about Carthage but I need to make sure the best interests of Hartwell are represented and addressed.

Dawn,
This is nearly perfect timing. In the July 30 issue, we want to do a special section on economic development in the Valley. Linda has set up times to talk with Lida Fitzgerald who handles a few communities, Dvid Krings from Lockland, Al Kantar from St. Bernard, Wally Cordes from Glendale and Ted mack from Sharonville. We still need contacts for the Cincinnati neighborhoods - Hartwell, Carthage and Roselawn so if you have a name, I'm all eyes!

Getting a good subtainable business district is a big priority for me personally, but I know it will depend on what the residents want to see happen. I know some people, including myself, are resistant to change but I think if it benefits our neighborhood and makes us a more walkable neighborhood..it has to be a good thing--especially with gas prices being the way they are. Having familiar & friendly neighborhood businesses is something I really want to see for Hartwell.

I bet you are very excited. I know I am and we don't even live in Hartwell. We do a lot of business down there though so I am looking forward to the changes.
I can remember back years ago, when I was a teen, Hartwell had a good business district. It would be wonderful if it could get back to the way it was then.

I agree...Penn Station has some pricey sandwiches, but they are good. And to think of what else may come soon...I cant wait!

There are banners on the Jimmys Bar-B-Q which is technically in SPringfield Twp on the corner of Vine & Compton...COMING SOON...Penn Station! Also, I met with the City of Cincinnati Dev. group on Wednesday of this week and Vine Street Coordior Study plans for Hartwells business district begin in September. All residents and business owners will be involved in providing information and ideas of what we would like to see in our business and to obtain subtainable businesses and other developments for the betterment of our community and those around us. Who said things aren't happening in Hartwell...not me!
