I took a look-see at that Lee's restaurant this week. They have signs on the front door that tell potentiail miscreants:

1) There is video surveillance at all times
2) The staff cannot open the safe, and that's where most of the money is.

At least they didn't have a 'No Guns Allowed' sign, criminals seem to get a kick out of ignoring those during a robbery. But sadly, like most workplaces, the employees are probably not allowed to carry a firearm for self-protection, even if the customers are. Such is the way of the useless PITA lawyers and insurance wonks who serve no useful purpose in "overseeing" things in the business world.

That's right, in my opinion it's a shame that the clerk didn't have a gun (along with the skill and willingness to use iit on this scumbag). For a comparison, I give you the Shop Rite Market in Roselawn, 7911 Reading Rd. So far there have been two holdup men taken out of there horizontally. The good guys were not charged, haven't been sued to the best of my knowledge, and even got their legally owned/possessed firearms back quickly.

Even though it's not in the best part of town, I feel safer stopping there for a cup of coffee than most any other 'quickie mart'.

As you may have seen on the local news...there was a shooting & robbery at the Springfield Twp Lee's on Vine street last night. The female was shot in the face twice and has been released from the hospital.  I offered our support to the Springfield Twp police if the community can help id the robber.  I will let you know if they pass any photos on from the surv. tapes.  Thank god no one was killed and this female employee is okay.
