Last discussion via the phone & at the Summit with Trasportation & Engineering...they are working on a perm. no left turn sign the intersection for the traffic heading West on Galbraith trying to turn left (south) onto Burns. Additional feedback from community is requested and if no further feedback is obtained this no left turn sign will be the only thing done by the City at this time.

A meeting has not been confirmed with them yet. I stated at the June meeting we would try to get them to the July meeting but if that was not possible we would schedule another date. As soon as I have a date for the meeting I will let the neighborhood know but I do not like to schedule anything until we are able to announce the meeitng at a HIA meeting and put it in the newsletter. Since the July newletter is going out within the next few days, a presentation from Transportation & Engineering may not be until August when we hold the meeting. As soon as I have a comfirmed meeting date, it will be announced. Thanks, Dawn

I hope we can get the word out to people living on the north side of Galbraith about the HIA meeting with Traffic and Engineering. I would like to see a flyer given out to each home notifing them of the meeting. I have told my neighbors about the meeting and I will remind them again as they both think we should have a light at this intersection.

I too would like a light at Galbraith and Burns. I have lived here for over 40 years and seen many accidents at this intersection including my own family. We who live on Burns have a hard time getting out of our drive ways and out of our cars if they are parked on the street because of the heavy traffic and fast traffic. A light would slow down right turns on red as they are suppose to stop before turning. Cars buz around the north east corner as fast as they can.
Cars back up trying to get out onto Galbraith Rd before and after school is very bad. If the crossing gates on down at Sheehan that causes another back up. Cars are lined up for a block. As far as I am concerned a light is the only way to solve traffic problems at this intersection. It is another way to slow traffic down as it enter the 20 mile school zone.

Represenatives from the Hartwell Improvement Association council will be meeting with City departments to discuss the on going accidents at the Galbraith & Burns intersection.
Numerous residents have quoted in the Cincinnati Enquirer about wanting a light put in, the local council attempted that back in the 1980's. If residents have on going requests to the City of CIncinnati, I ask that they come to an HIA meeting and bring these issues to the local council. The local coucil is the goverening body and had contacts with all City departments. Working as a group through your local council will get issues addressed.
The HIA meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Hartwell Recreation Center on the corner of Vine & Galbraith. All residents are encouraged to attend.
