On Saturday and Sunday , July 7 and  8  2007, I, along with my daughters Julie and Jackie, will be joining over 1000 cyclist who will bike 150 miles from Wilimington to Dayton and back in the MS 150 Bike Tour to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. This will be my  3rd year as a participant. I did pretty well last year being one of the highest fund raisers and me having just recovered from open heart surgery.  I have been preparing pretty hard this year, cycling most weekends and shedding 40 pounds of weight since January.

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic progressive and, most often, disabling disease of the central nervous system.  MS can impair mobility, sight, speech, balance and coordination. It is often characterized by patterns of attack and remission and most frequently strikes adults between ages 20 and 50.

There are approximately 120 MS bike rides throughout the country helping to raise 35-40 million dollars annually.  With this, my 3rd try, I have decided to exceed  last year’s goal of  $3500.00  to $5000.00  Your donation will help make a big difference. The great majority of the money goes toward research and funding local program needs. The advancement in newly developed drugs has helped delay the progression of the disease in people. There is still a long way to go. Crossing the finish line last year and being cheered on by many people stricken with this horrible disease, three of which I know personally, has made my efforts so gratifying.
